Mangura Terms of Use
Effective date: 6 August 2026
Last updated: 11 September 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mangura iOS app and the Mangura legal website. In these Terms, “Mangura,” “we,” and “us” refer to Mangura and its independent developer.
By downloading, accessing, purchasing features in, or using Mangura, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Mangura.
Apple App Store terms
Mangura is licensed, not sold. Your license to the app is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Apple’s applicable usage rules. These Terms supplement, and do not replace, Apple’s Standard EULA. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s Standard EULA about your license to the app, Apple’s Standard EULA controls to the extent of that conflict.
Apple is not responsible for Mangura, its content, maintenance, support, or any Mangura-specific claims. Nothing in these Terms changes any rights or obligations that Apple has under the Standard EULA or applicable law.
What Mangura provides
Mangura is a general-purpose manga reader and client. It can organize a local library, read files stored on your device, connect to media servers, connect to optional manga tracking services, and retrieve material from sources that you configure.
The App Store version contains no manga works, chapter pages, manga catalog, preconfigured scraping sources, or developer-operated source directory. Mangura and its developer do not host, upload, publish, sell, license, sublicense, or distribute manga content and do not operate a proxy through which content is delivered.
Mangura provides software functionality only. It does not grant permission to use any website, server, manga, artwork, or other third-party material.
Eligibility
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms where you live. If you are not old enough to agree on your own, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you and supervise your use of Mangura.
You are responsible for ensuring that Mangura and any connected service or content are appropriate and lawful for you to use in your location.
Limited license
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use Mangura on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s usage rules.
Except where applicable law or an open-source license permits it, you may not copy, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works from Mangura.
Open-source components included in Mangura remain subject to their respective licenses.
Content sources and your responsibilities
You may manually add a declarative source configuration or connect a media server. A source configuration contains connection and parsing instructions, such as URLs, request rules, and selectors. It is not manga content and does not itself grant access or usage rights.
You may add or use a source only when you:
- own or operate it;
- have explicit authorization from its operator; or
- are otherwise legally permitted to access and use it in that way.
You may access, read, or download only content that you own, have licensed, have permission to use, is in the public domain, or that you are otherwise legally entitled to access. You must comply with applicable copyright and other laws, the source operator’s terms, and any access restrictions.
Mangura does not verify, endorse, approve, or certify user-added sources. Successfully importing a configuration or connecting a server does not prove that you are authorized to use it. You are responsible for the sources you add, the requests your device sends, and the content you access or store.
You retain any rights you hold in source configurations or files that you create. Mangura’s developer does not receive ownership of them. You may share a configuration only when you have the rights and permissions needed to do so.
Prohibited use
You must not use Mangura to:
- access, copy, download, or distribute content without authorization;
- infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, contractual, or other rights;
- bypass access controls, paywalls, technical restrictions, or security measures;
- access an account, website, server, or network without permission;
- send malicious requests, distribute malware, or introduce harmful code through a source configuration;
- interfere with or place an unreasonable load on Mangura or a third-party service;
- harass, threaten, defraud, or harm another person; or
- violate applicable law or encourage another person to do so.
Third-party services
Mangura can connect directly to services you choose, including content sources, media servers, AniList, MyAnimeList, Apple iCloud, and Apple’s purchase services. RevenueCat helps Mangura verify purchases and subscription access. Google Firebase provides app analytics and crash reporting as described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party services are independent from Mangura. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, privacy policies, permissions, and availability. You must comply with all applicable third-party terms. Mangura does not control and is not responsible for third-party accounts, content, security, accuracy, availability, policy changes, or decisions to restrict access.
A third-party service may change or discontinue its website, API, authentication, content, or other functionality without notice. As a result, a Mangura integration or source configuration may stop working even when the app itself has not changed.
Connecting or displaying a third-party service does not mean that Mangura is affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by that service. Third-party names, marks, and content belong to their respective owners.
Accounts and credentials
Mangura does not operate a Mangura user-account service. Optional connections may require an account with a third party. You are responsible for maintaining the security of those accounts, credentials, tokens, server settings, and devices.
If you believe a connected account or credential has been compromised, disconnect it in Mangura and contact the relevant service operator. Disconnecting a service from Mangura does not delete your account or information retained by that service.
Mangura Plus and purchases
Mangura may offer subscriptions or other in-app purchases that unlock Mangura Plus software features. Available features, prices, billing periods, and any trial or promotional terms are shown before you confirm a purchase.
Purchases are processed by Apple and may be verified through RevenueCat. Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless you cancel them through Apple within the period stated on the purchase screen and in Apple’s terms. Deleting Mangura does not cancel a subscription.
You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings and use Mangura’s restore-purchases control for eligible purchases. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies and applicable law.
A Mangura Plus purchase licenses only Mangura software functionality. It does not purchase manga, pay a third-party subscription, grant access to a source or server, or provide any copyright, distribution, or other content rights.
Mangura Plus features may evolve as the app changes. Any change remains subject to the description presented at purchase, Apple’s rules, and your mandatory consumer rights.
Updates and availability
We may update Mangura to add, change, secure, or remove functionality; maintain compatibility; comply with law or platform requirements; or address technical and safety issues. Some updates may be necessary for continued use.
We do not promise that Mangura, a particular feature, or a third-party integration will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of information that matters to you. Discontinuing or changing a paid feature does not limit any remedy or refund right that you have under applicable law.
Intellectual property
Mangura’s software, design, branding, and original materials are owned by or licensed to Mangura’s developer and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No rights are granted except the limited right to use Mangura under these Terms, Apple’s Standard EULA, and applicable open-source licenses.
Mangura does not claim ownership of third-party manga, artwork, titles, metadata, websites, trademarks, or services. All rights in that material remain with their respective owners.
Rights holders and service operators can open a content or source concern. Do not include passwords, tokens, or confidential credentials in a public issue.
Privacy
Mangura’s Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the controls available to you. By using Mangura, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review that policy.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mangura is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee the accuracy, legality, quality, availability, or security of third-party content, sources, servers, websites, APIs, or services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, remedies, or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mangura and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of or inability to use Mangura, third-party services, or user-configured sources. This includes loss of data, loss of access, service interruption, or losses caused by unauthorized or unlawful source use.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. The limitations in this section may not apply to you where local law provides otherwise.
Ending your use
You may stop using Mangura at any time by removing the app. Removing the app does not automatically cancel subscriptions, delete third-party accounts, or erase information retained by third parties or Apple iCloud.
Your right to use Mangura may end if you materially violate these Terms or Apple’s Standard EULA. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability, and dispute provisions—survive termination.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when Mangura’s features, business model, platform rules, or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain at this URL and will show a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or release notes when appropriate.
Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. They do not remove mandatory consumer rights or retroactively change the essential terms of a completed purchase where prohibited by law.
Applicable law and consumer rights
These Terms are interpreted under applicable law. If you are a consumer, you retain the mandatory protections available in the country where you normally live. Nothing in these Terms requires you to bring a dispute in a forum other than one available to you under applicable consumer law.
Before starting formal proceedings, you may contact us so we can try to resolve the concern informally. This does not restrict your right to contact a consumer-protection authority, regulator, or court.
